Newbury Almshouse Trust is seeking volunteers to join its residents’ support team. These volunteers, known as Proctors, provide a vital link between the Trust and the residents in our 42 properties.
Proctor’s duties include making monthly contact with residents and helping to ensure that they understand any changes to the Trust’s policies and major improvement plans. The Proctors also relay any resident problems or concerns so they can be addressed by the management team.
We are seeking one member of the team to look after the routine maintenance calls and ensure that the correct approved contractor carries out the work. This will also involve keeping a log of all maintenance requests and the completion of works.
All volunteers will need to have a DBS certificate which will be organised and paid for by the Trust. The amount of time will vary from volunteer to volunteer, but we would anticipate on average a minimum of 4 hours per week.
